Types of Braces

Metal Braces

metal_color.pngMetal braces are made of high-quality, durable stainless steel. They are the most common type of braces. The brackets, which are bonded to the front of each tooth, are connected by the archwire, which helps guide the teeth into the correct positions. Today's metal braces are smaller, more comfortable and more attractive.

Ceramic Braces

clear.pngCeramic braces move teeth just as efficiently as metal braces, except the brackets are clear, so they are less noticeable. They are most popular with adult patients due to their cosmetic appeal. The only drawbacks to ceramic brackets are that they are more fragile, and the elastic ties can discolor between orthodontic visits.

Incognito™ Braces

HARMONY Braces

Having braces doesn’t mean you have to have a “tin grin.” We use HARMONY braces, which attach to the lingual, or tongue, side of your teeth. HARMONY braces are custom-fit for your teeth and treatment plan, and each bracket is manufactured for each individual patient. These braces are well-suited for adults who worry about the aesthetic nature of traditional metal braces.

Invisalign®

invisalign.pngThe Invisalign system is a series of clear overlay templates, called aligners, that have been generated by computer simulation to gradually move teeth. This system is available to adult patients and some teenagers with certain orthodontic bite problems. Ask us if you are a candidate for the Invisalign system.

Simpli5 Express Aligner System

Simpli5 clear aligner system is the new aesthetic treatment for straightening and realigning your teeth without the use of traditional braces’ brackets and wires. Simpli5 is the perfect solution for mild to moderate spacing and crowding issues in teens and adults.

Made with precise 3-D imaging technology, the Simpli5 system consists of five sets of aligners that are 100% invisible and lightweight. They are comfortable to wear and easily removed to eat, drink, brush and floss. Each set of aligners are worn for three to four weeks, allowing the patient’s teeth to move slowly to the desired position. Depending on the amount of tooth movement required, total treatment time averages three to five months.
